changed a cv joint on my tempo once that wasn't that hard or maybe changing the radiator on my 3rd gen but that took like 30 mins

hmmm, you don't have enough experience, trust me. it is a job for some one with more experience than you. you can give it a try, but i can assure you will be down working on it for longer than you think it would take.
i changed my tranny in 2 days with very long breaks. i wasn't in the rush. i had all weekend.

the more hands you have the better off you will be.

it allways helps having another person to drop the tranny and esp while putting it back in. I'd say plan on 2 days, might be able to get it done faster, just make sure you go over what you are doing ahead of time, as for a good procedure.

If you have the money pay someone to do it.

Its very time comsuming. from swapping the pedals and tranny you'll have quite a many cus words by the time your done.
