Interesting. Looks to be a Middle-Eastern feature at the very least. Maybe so muslims knew in which direction to pray when they were on the road.

But it appears that it just gives directions in a straight line. There's no way it could know the road networks in order to give you detailed, turn-by-turn directions to a certain place. Kinda useless, at least in comparison to today's stuff.

so its like a compass thing eh? a lot of american cars have them like up by the mirror. from early 90s up mostly. i'm sure you've seen them like in some chryslers and fords. anyway, yeah, there's tones of little features we in the US and many other places didnt get. remote control locks like on newer accords, and y'all should know about the power fold mirrors. those were nice.

i have seen them on many JDM cars.
all of the cars in Japan have something like that. it is very simple controller that measures the distance, speed, mileage and so on and on.
