i'm using a 2-arm puller to remove the lower control arm, but the friggin thing isn't budging!

(yes, I have removed the bolt)

i've sprayed liquid wrench all over it to help, tried to bang it with a hammer, etc... what is wrong???

Get a fork style seperator that you hammer on, I've had better luck with those. They like to tear up the joints though.

could you give me some more details on what exactly that is?

It is basically a two-pronged fork that you stick between the arm and the knuckle. The balljoint stud goes in between the prongs of the fork. Then the fork is hammered on which causes the joint to be pressed out. There are also pneumatic versions of the "pickle" fork available. My $.02

Visit autozone.com and look up their tool rentals. There is a picture there. Also, if there is an Autozone near you, you can use it with their loaner program.

ok, i just bought a ball joint separater, and.... nothing.

i friggin hammered the thing in there as far and as hard as I could... and I think it's just destroying the joint or something, cuz the lower control arm will not budge!!!

i used a breaker bar and tryed prying it, to no avail...

any other ideas please?

i got it off.

i used the lower ball joint remover from two different angles and worked it for about 10-15 minutes and it finally came loose.

On my drivers side it was pretty ez. THe passenger side needed a 20 lb sledgehammer.
