Well it's almost time for new front pads. I probably need new shoes (since my parking brake still lets me roll) too. Before I picked some up I wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations. I want something that will be easy on my rotors, quiet, resist fade, grip well, and last for a while. Yeah, I know, what weird expectations for brake pads.
So what have you tried and how did they work? If you liked them, where did you get them?
Thanks

I put aem pads on my wife's honda and I like them. Little brake dust and good stopping with resistance to heat.
They are about40-45 dollars .

I used Raybestos and I got no squeaks. Other good choices are honda genuine pads.

I'm trying to find something good for the money. If you remember what you paid for yours, please post that too.

I'd like something that I can use with my stock rotors. By the way, what is the difference between semi-metalic pads and organic pads? Does one have any advantages? (other than cost, I know organics run cheaper)

get honda pads or get exactly what they reccomend, i have axxis pads now, and i am growing cumbersome of them They squeak, make dust and, after driving the car for 1+ hour they dont stop nearly as well and i constantly fear rear ending someone, no good, so last night i put the honda pads back on, dust yes, but no squeak and good stopping power

I have EBC pads I bought from thetirerack. They are excellent pads. If you use your brakes with frequent firm pedal stops these are awesome pads, but they do create just as much dust as the stock pads. No sqeeks or squels, no fade and shorter stopping distances.

I go for Nissin Fronts & AEM rears.
However, if I had rear drums like alot of you do, I would go with the following set up:
Front AEM pads.... why? Because AEM pads are made with Nissin (Honda's stock pads) But AEM has worked an agreement with Nissin to manufacture Performance pads.
This means.... Precision engineering of OEM specs but at a High performance degree!
Quote> "Manufactured in conjunction with Original Equipment (O.E.) Japanese brake manufacturer NISSIN, AEM’s High Performance Brake Pads are guaranteed to outperform the stock pads and fit perfectly every time. A unique ceramic-aramid fiber compound provides a higher coefficient of friction which resists fading and reduces stopping distances. These pads were independently lab tested to ensure consistent hot or cold performance, shorter stopping distances and reduced pedal effort. "
"Specifically engineered for high performance braking
-Use of non-ferrous metals produces non-corrosive brake dust
-Low squeal properties
-Light colored dust doesn’t show on wheels
-Pads work with stock brake system" <end Quote.

For the rear, I would get Nissin Stock Honda pads to give it the best grip possible. NOT AutoZone shit and crap like that!!

I have had very good luck with Raybestos Pro-Line pads. I did not like their shoes as much and am now running genuine Honda shoes. I found that the Raybestos pads outlast the Honda pads by a factor of 2! I got 52,000 miles out of the ones that came with the car and then 121,000 out of the Raybestos pads. I do almost all stop and go driving, too. I am at 196,000 miles and only on the third set of brake pads.
