down the street: Walmart. j/k, ebay has good stuff, just search for brand name sites like sony.com , pioneer.com, audiobahn.com and shit. search google. i personally hate ordering (Waiting). goto a local audio shop if you want good stuff.

good speakers with good value are the infinity reference series... you can get 2-ways for about $60 on ebay, 3-ways for about $80 on there, and components for about $100 on there...

of course, since sound is subjective, you may like something more bass-heavy...

also, www.justcarspeakers.com is a pretty good place to order from... no presonal experience, but i hear good things...

if you don't know what you like, i would recomend for you to go to the local audio store and listen to a few of them. when you find what you want, go on ebay and buy them. this way you will save tons of money.

Hey are the Alpine Type S speakers anygood? my friend had some and they are so crisp! or are the infinity references better?

IMO, the infinities are better... get what sounds best to you, because when you're talking brands like alpine and infinity, durability and quality aren't really a problem...

infinity refs are bright imo... i think most infinity speakers period sound bright to me. Alpine is pretty good also.

the infinities are so bright, you may see fit to get an EQ to tone it down some... i'd rather have the flat curve that they give than something that has to be EQed to have a flat response curve

number 1 tip, go to a specialized shop if you want good quality stuff, don't go to best buy/circuit city/walmart. Other than the brands listed, i'd look into cadence and orion stuff, orions are brighter and cadence has a warmer sound. depends what you like.

i dunno, i know a lot of people that got their shit from Crutchfield.com and they've got some good stuff. personally i'd go look at Best Buy. this week they are haveing a sale. i got a new head unit from there on monday. i've already got good speakers except for the front ones. Best Buy and Circuit City list info and stuff on the speakers they carry on their sites.

you can't go wrong with Alpine or Infinity, but Pioneer also has some geed stuff for the price. Just go around to different shops and stores and listen to what they have, then choose what is the best for the quality and price.

I hear good things about the Alpine Type-R speakers, but also the Swedish DLS are very good and Macrom are also worthy of a closer look.
