is it a threaded hole?

Yeah, it can't be for an o2 sensor

it could be for mounting...

Just plug the hole. You don't need it.

thats odd, it could be for an exhaust temp sensor? some have a pipe coming off of the cat that is hollow but it is actually a hanger

most honda cats are the same or close... its probably for a rear o2 sensor for a civic app or somthing...

Thats not a cat it's a test pipe, I just had a customer come in with one from e-bay... it has 2 holes in it one facing down the other facing to the side... they are just ports to feed in a O2 sensor and possible an exhaust temp sensor... problem is one of the plugs fell out, it came with 2 plugs that use a hex key to tighten them down, the other plug was loose so I bought 2 wahsers with a small hole in the center but big enough so the washer covers the hole and welded them on and filled in the hole.

no more leaks but no more option to hook up guages and stuff.

If it is a cat then the hole is probalby for an air tube. Look through it, is it hollow or is there honeycomb looking stuff in side it. If it were a cat you would not want to mount an o2 sensor in it (cat messes with the readings) and no matter what it is that is way to far back for an egt sensor.

No, actually its a test pipe and the flanges don't fit my exhaust system :(

none of them?

you mean you got the one with the ball joint on one side and the 3 bolt flange on the other?

looks like someone sent you the wrong one or they didn't list their product right.

no, 3 bolt flange on both sides but when I went to install it, the downpipe wouldn't line up right, it was all messed up, I tried to make it aligh right but no go.

Oh yeah our cat has offset flnages...

probably best to bolt it to the header side, that way you know it will allign with an aftermarket header if you get one... then just modify the exhaust side to bolt up... or get a custom cat-back.
