Where is the cover? I would not want anything to get caught in the exposed cam wheel (even tho' the A20A is a non interfering engine).

believe me it is an interfering engine, You can easily block pistons with valves ive a possibilty to test this when I was changing my head seal.
So its not so funny.

Really? 'Cause several people, and even a certified Honda mechaninc with years of experience on Honda-Tech says that *most* Honda SOHC (including the A20A) are non-interfering. I believe Sean also says this.

I did block pistons with valves on A20A1 and A20A2,
dont know as for A20A3 and A20A4.
I did it when I was changing head on my A20A1.
I was curious about that with my sisters husband, and we've tried,
and it did block.
I wouldnt dare to say this if I didnt do this.

It's been said over and over again on this board and in the Honda manual itself somewhere that the A20 is a non-interference engine.

You running it without the cover? I just took the cover for mine and cut the center out and put it back on so you can see the stock gear till I get my adjustable one.

Ok. But I still know what I did. And what can I saym be careful.
One more thing, pistons in A20A are cutted out for clearance with valves.
and I think that in non-interference engine it wouldn't be that way.
any way, have a nice day.

i know for a fact you can smack those valves with the piston if the T belt breaks or something to that effect. i've looked at the A20's other civic and prelude engines with bent valves and fubared heads. anyway, that cam gear looks really clean. looks to be of quality. i like its polished appearance instead of the common anodized finishes or brass color.

Gawddamnit!!! Not upset, are ya?

No.

get that thing tuned now!

Gonna clear up those damn oil leaks first... then I find a dyno. :D

Mot so much extra ponies, more so where they come in. I've got the gear advanced just slightly and I can already feel a difference in bottom end power. It's a lot easier to get the car up an incline without having to downshift as much.

I'm gonna modify the upper cover so that I can get to the gear and have the belt protected.

Excellent! This one was the only choice at the time... up until a few days after the auction ended, people were still wondering if the Fidanzas were ever going to be produced. Even without degree marks I can still dial it in pretty well.

August is the month of the cam gear here at 3geez. Celebrate it by tuning like mad!

It looks good  , as long as you put the seal back in right and it's not slapping against the camgear :sad2:
