Umm, its a gauge that shows vacuum.
Proper vacuum to the carb/throttle body and accesories like the distributor and A/C idle boost is essential for a well running engine.

If you get one, hook it up to the intake manifold at the rear of the manifold... or to one of the vacuum ports on the left side of the carb, I believe they leave one port capped from the factory in order to hook up a gauge...

you should get a reading of 22"

24" is really good

you may only get 18" - 20" though.

Vac gauges can tell you all kinds of neat stuff if ya know how to read 'em. I've got one on my dash, was inexpensive and well worth it.

Hey i want to get a vacuum guage, along with an air/fuel ratio guage, how hard are they to set up?

tap at least 2 runners and hook them together... or all 4 runners if you want to be safe...

Tap the top not bottom of the manifold

this is more for your brake booster and vacuum advance to have a vacuum source... the guage can fit somewhere in there too...
