View Full Version : Power randomly cuts out....
I would love some ideas on what the heck is happening to my car.
I'll just be driving along on the 401, and all the sudden my car shuts itself off. All the gauges disengage, and the car starts slowing down(but the engine is running, it hasn't stalled). I press the gas, and it doesn't work.. So I pull over and turn the car off. Then it starts back up again like normal.
The people at Honda have no idea..and neither do I.
I would love some help please??

Distributor or a fuel problem...
Check your fluid levels
Make sure oil and radiator levels are full
Check your plugs
Make sure they are tight inside the hole... if they are old/worn replace
Check your spark plug wires
Check that they are secure on the plug and inside the cap and that they are not damaged
Check cap and Rotor
Look for signs of wear/deposit buildup or red dust inside of distributor
Check your filters front and rear
Replace if they are old
Check the booster venturies

Check the distributor ignitor
Not sure of the test procedure but you need a electronics tester/probe
Check the distributor air gap

Check your ignition switch ( Steering Collum )

I've only owned the car for a little less than a year..and thats about the only thing that I can't figure out....
thanks again
