its leaking from somewere but i dont know were itis leaking at ill find out then post it but any suggestions

check the connections at the Speed sensor(2 connections) and the rack (4 connections I think) the reservior(3 connections on my car) and the pump(2 connections)

i believe its the rack what can i do? do i need new hoses ?

If the rack itself is leaking, it may need to be replaced or resealed. If the connections or hoses are leaking, they can be replaced without much trouble with common hand tools. Where in particular are you noticing the leak? It is pretty common for the rack seals to leak in the inner tie-rod area. Most of the time it is best to install a rebuilt rack instead of trying to fix the old one.

my i had to replace my rack and pinion becasue it was leaking 400 dollars for my mechanic to do it:ouch: if i where u i would do it my self it will save you couple hundred good luck

i cant tell exactly were it is :dunno: but it is on that area ill find out tomorrow

figured it out my whole gear box for the steering is worn out but now the idle is screwed up. it changes all the time from like 1000 to like 2500 then like 900 is there a problem or does this come with the terratory of a 16 year old car with 260,000 miles on it
