On the exaust where it turns to a flex pipe with what looks like the shield from coax cable or something. Do you think it is possible to make it solid? I want to come off my turbo and go straight back with a single piece of pipe.

Flexpipes are a good thing to have. They let the exaughst flex. If it were to be rigid you can develop exaughst leaks at the flanges a lot easier. Sure its possible to get rid off but I would reccomend leaving it in place.

It will put stress on the turbo when your engine shifts...

with a turbo you need to upgrade the pipe anyways... the stock pipe is 1.75"

they sell 3" and 2.5" stainless steel flexpipes that welds on.

unless you plan to run with no exhaust and just the downpipe...

without a flex pipe, my understanding is that you run the risk of creating leaks at flanges from excessive movement (or even cracks/bends in the piping) whenever your car experiences a shift in momentum (changing gear) or moves physically (speedbump).

i think people would argue that the reduction in flow would be totally trivialized (if there is even a loss) by the value of having the flexibility.

your car will have the WORST vibration at idle if you remove the flexpipe!

Speaking from experence, keep the flexpipe, I had mine removed becuase it broke and over the course of about a year and a half my exuast broke three times where the flex pipe was supposed to be.

flexpipe is your friend.

Ok, I like the one idea. The just stop at the downpipe idea. But how loud do you think it would be? I dont like the sustained fart most of the cars i see now days have.

Turbo's have a different exhaust sound... if you don't want the fart that bullet mufflers have then get a chambered muffler.
