why would you want shorter gears, when in the future you will run even more boost.
there would be no need for 1st gear if you go with lude tranny
i would just stay with carbed one.

While on this subject, what exactly is the weakness in our trannys (as far as boosting goes), and does anyone know of ways to "beef up" our trannys? I've heard of using a Prelude or Integra transmission, but how does that help as far as strength goes? It only changes the ratios, no?

Is there a difference in carb and injected trannys?

Yes, the final drive is slightly different:
FI 4.07, carb 3.87

So the si tranny is longer in 3rd and shorter in 4th and 5th.And the same in 1st and 2nd

nope, SI tranny will be shorter in all gears since it has even higher gear ratio than LXI tranny. you will be shifting every 2 seconds.

Are the numbers listed here wrong?

It looks like the final drive ratios are the same, with the difference limited to the 3rd - 5th ratios only. Elijah, you may want to look at the numbers again. It looks like 3rd, 4th, and 5th are shorter on the Prelude tranny.

With closer gear ratios, you're rpms will drop less as you get through the gears. This could be beneficial to keep the turbine spinning at higher speeds.
