Hey Guys,

Living in a country of snow and sh*t - just wanted to ask how ppl cope with having their cars stay lowered even during the snow-ful months? This is one of the reasons (besides price) that strays me away from lowering my 3g.

Thoughts?

get coilovers, that way you can raise it up on studs during the winter and slam it down low during the good weather.

would that mean that coilovers are the adjustable shocks? or complementary of adjustables? (i cant say i know much of this area, or in any area)

I'm going to be getting another car. Nice cheap beater. The 3g will never see snow again unless absolutely necessary.

I have no problems driving my 3G in the winter. I have about 6-7 centimetres of ground clearance, but I rarely get stuck. The worst problem is driving in deep, wet snow; the snow will lift/get packed under the body, and remove the weight of the front wheels, no traction occurs, and you're stuck.

Just rent your lowered car out as a snowplow! LOL I plowed the streets for free last winter! LOL

Having a lowered car means you need a beater in winter. Either that or move 600 miles south like I did.

whats the difference between coils and coilovers...or just the same?

Coils are just another name for springs(they are actually all of the circles that make the spring). Coilovers are just adjustable springs.

Winter beater? My 3g IS my beater! =) j/k, she's a great car. But anyway, being lowered really doesn't change it too much in the snow, it STILL does better then my mom's RWD van.

Also, aren't coil-overs actually coil springs mounted to/surround normal gas or fluid-filled shocks?
