hey guys, i'm about to build a couple of sealed boxes for my 2 12's, the ported box i have takes up too much space in the trunk. The recommended volume is .65-1.3 cu.ft., what would be the difference in sound at each end of the spectrum. I'm gonna try to build em so they fit into those nooks on each side of the trunk, probably gonna cut the plastic so it can slide all the way to the body.

what kind subs do you have?
good brand will actually post the preffered freq. and displacement for a sub.
i know on my alpine sub, it can fo anywhere from .8 to 1.5 cu. ft. but it actually says which volume is the best for freq.

when you make a box. make sure you have the back wall in the angle. the box can not have pure 90 deg corners.
if you make a regular box with all 90 deg corners. this is what would happen. sub will fire the sound wave, it will bounce back to the sub and kill the sound that is coming out of the sub at that time. basicly it will cancel out the same freq. waves.
so make the back or the front of the box in the angle. the angle doesn't have to be too much. 45 deg will do just fine.

here is the site that will help you to build your box.

just read the hole thing. you will learn a lot.
the whole site is very good when it comes to basic audio understanding.
