Anyone heard the new kenwood excelon's, they sound incredible. Especially considereing they're kenwoods. The amps are great too. I had a 1600w peak powering 4 cadence beasts, and it was louder than the 20 door speakers running off of 2 amps that totaled 2000wrms. and it was super clean and about half the weight of a normal amp. Kenwood really outdid themselves this time around.

i've liked all Kenwood products i've bought. i had a head unit that worked well for years, i just bought a new one that is awsome. puts out a lot more power than the old one and such clear sound. i may look at some Kenwood subs to replace my old low power ones. got any pix of your new stuff?

i haven't bought it yet, it was in a project car, I'll try to get pics from the owner if you want. I'm debating whether to buy the coax set for 90 or spring for the component set for 200. but i need 2 sets, if i'm gonna do anything i'll replace all the interior speakers.

IMO, Kenwood has always had moderate to good quality. i've had the same deck for about 3years and it has served me very well. Its a kenwood KDC-217s

The next upgrade will be a kenwood again, but with mp3/wma

yea kenwood stuff is preaty good, my friend is running 2 infinity 10" on an 800 watt kenwood amp, and holy crap is it loud. Definatly louder than my 2 infinity 12" running on two 760watt poineer amps, but then again, pioneer amps suck. I think pioneer has the best headunits hands down though.

My car came with a Kenwood tape deck when I got it a few years ago. I liked it a lot because it had good functionality, good sound, and looked nice also. Of course I got rid of it since it was a tape deck.

the only reason i'm warry of kenwood is because the volume buttons always broke off.

brought this back cuz i didn't feel like starting a new one, but I just got 2 kenwood excelon 6.5" coax's for my front doors and all i can say is they are amazing. The loudness is good enough for me, but the SQ is unbeleivable for a speaker at this price (i paid $85 for the pair). The staging in great too, even with my leg blocking it inthe driver side door, it sounds like the speaker is right in front of my face. I highly recommend these speakers for anyone lookin for great SQ and good SPL out of 6.5s

I dunno... i have never been a huge fan of kenwood, although I would likely buy their products over RF any day of the week, but for $85 i would much rather get something like Focal Access 6.5's. I'm currently running their 5.25" Component polykevlars and love them to death, they just need an amp.

these are running off a cadence Q4100, haven't tried them off the deck so i'm not sure how they sound there. And, they list for 170 a pair, i just got them on a sweet deal, they also kill those focals on the freq resonse, focals are like 60hz-18khz, these kenwoods are 28hz to 40khz, and the freq resonse curve is pretty flat till you hit about 80hz where it drops off.
