How do I "extend" my O2 sensor

I just put a set of Pacesetters headers on the car and I noticed that the O2 sensor dosent make it to its new position. I have a carb and it works well without it but I was just wondering how to fix that problem.

im thinking of getting a pacesetter header myself but i have FI is it anydiff cuz i might have that problem too.

Splice some wire into the harness before the connector (do it on the wire harness side not the o2 sensor side so you dont have to do it again if you replace the sensor). I'd suggest soldering it, sealing the solder joints with shrink tube, then protecting the wire with some plastic harness covering so it lasts like oem. Make sure you use good wire (snipping some out of a wreck at a junk yard is a cheap way to get good wire). The o2 sensor(s) on the pace setter are at the stock location for the 88-9 lxi, all you other guys will probalby have to lengthen your wires.
