ok, i just replaced the alternator with a good one, and it still is not putting out any voltage.

my ecu is throwing an "oxygen content" code but I doubt that has anything to do with this.... i think...

so what could be keeping the alternator from coming on?

:help:

I wouldn't see why......

Make sure the Alt is grounded properly and the serp bult or pulley isn't loose.

nothing is loose.

but how exactly do i ground the alternator? it's just got the wiring harness plug and a positive cable on it...

I'm not sure the your Accord may have one, my Focus does. + connection, plug connector, and the ground.

nah, no ground,

i just checked the wiring harness plug. there IS power going TO the alternator, I'm guessing to tell it to come on. but for some gay-ass reason, there is no power coming back out.

where did you get that alternator?

old engine. replaced the motor, and i thought the alternator on the new engine was bad, so i replaced it with the good working one from the old engine, and still nothing.

take both of them to autozone or advance auto and let them test it.
if they turn out to be ok, something is wrong with your wirring.

oh, i thought they needed to be in the engine to test, but this would make it a TON easier! :)

if these alternators are good (which I think they are) then I just have to find the mole.......

the only reason they have to be in the car, is because they can do the test load.
but in the stores they can tell you if they charge or not.

check your alternator using the pages 24-18 and 24-19 from paul's website. the category is "Engine Electrical". no matter what a good alternator should put out a voltage when its spun.

i figured out the problem. there was a blown relay in the fuse box. i just followed the wire and tested various places for resistance/voltage until i found the problem.

works great now. thanks.

Back in April I saw them locally here in Reading, PA. They rocked harder than any band I ever have seen. The opening act was the Push Stars, they were good too.
