heh, i have a fuel injected accord but when i removed my stock intake down by the fender i just ripped it out. it slide out from the top but i had to work at it alittle. just slide it out. but it may be different for the carbed intake but i dont think it would be that much different...

Yeah that is the stock cold air intake for the carb... problem is the carb air box and carb intake are very restrictive... so the whole mess of getting a cold air or short ram intake is to get rid of the stock air box restriction... you'll have to route the cold air the same way the efi guys do it... get a civic air box or a custom adapter to use the cold air intake... do not just put a intake on the stock air box... it will be a waste.

You may have to widen the hole by the battery, under the battery tray to fit the new intake piping.

I made my own adapter ( Don't hook up the yellow hose like I have mine to the venturi vacuum, I was simply doing tests )

doesn't go thru the fender you don't need to remove it, it goes thru the hole by the battery. You only have to widen the hole if you want to route your filler to the bumper... it's the best way to do it.

It's missing the bend that would put the filter down in your bumper... it doesn't look that long either... remember you want the longest possible intake with the least amount of bends... usually larger cars have larger engine bays as well so the intake will be longer.

please look at this thread http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=63

if you have further questions after reading the thread then post them here I guess. No PM's on car related stuff.

Oh, there is a round black plastic cap thing you have to take out first. I think its like 2 or 2.5" wide.

it's more like a 2" opening, I tried to fit a 2.25" down there so i didn't have to widen the hoe and it hit in a few places...
