i dunno much bout the solo barics, but ive always been more pleased with the sounds of two subs rather than one.

I know we keep getting threads like this and there is no answer to your questoin that someone else can provide without knowing your personal tastes and having actually heard the subs in your particular setup. The answer is only you can answer that, listen to both setups at a local shop if you can and decide what sounds better to you.

dont get a cheap amp.... save your money and get a quality amp .... you will be much happier in the long run ..truust me

as far as amps go for subs, it doesnt matter if its 'clean' or 'dirty' power, as long as the power is actually there, so if you can get a legitament 1000watt legacy amp, go for it (although i doubt there is an actually legitament 1000watt legacy amp), but both of those sub set ups your asking about are going to be loud, not nessicarly(sp?) good sounding

I say get the L7s so that whenever you upgrade your amp you can bass the hell out (if that's your style) but the L5s should be loud enough for most people

go 2 L5's ported, and you will be satisfied.

the L7s are the best because if you want to get a better amp then the L7s can take it. I have a 15 inch L7 and it hit hard.but if you just want a little bit of bass the the L5s are cool. but i recomend the L7s.
