Carbs are 98hp!!! Not sure on if there were changes in the carb motor over the years...... the 86-87 LXi/SEi had 110hp while the 88-89 LXi/SEi had 120hp

keep in mind these numbers are at the crank not at the wheels. so it means we are probably pushing roughly 30% less than those numbers when it left the showroom floor. Nowadays..we are lucky if our engine are puttin out those powers in stock form at this age.

i guess he was reading about the 3g with the 16valve engine. not trying to go off the subject, but it seem's that the 86 dx/lx made 98hp, but 110 lbs or tq.

and as for the 88-89 dx/lx since it's about 2 inches wider and longer than the 86-87's there gonna be a lil' slow.

WTF? If there wider how come my 86 bumper fits perfectly on my 89 and vice versa, for that matter how come the wheel base measures the same for both, what are you talking about? Did those numbers come out of thin air?

nope, they did'nt. to be honest i got the info on autotrader.
what go tme cuce rious is when i sat in the 88 it felt wider, than my 86, i was curious i mean i also notice it's driving trait's.
it very different compared to the 86 lx.

the wheel base is the same, though.
i know it sound's weird . . . . .

oh, to correct a post earlier, the SE-I was only produced in 89, not before that.

i think there were some se-i in 88, or something cuz i know several se-is with no leather and/or cupholders, but with sunroof, rear brakes...blah blah blah...

i thought honda only made the special editions in like 85 and 89 to put like an exclamation mark on the end of the generation.

That is another incorrect statement.SE-i's where only in 89 and only manufactured in the US.And once again the #'s for 88-89 SE-i and LX-i where both 120hp and 122lb's tq.86-87 #'s 110hp and I dont know the tq.And all none LX-i's 86-89 are 98hp.And again dont know the tq

That is true about the only in 85 and 89.I dont know about the end of generation thing.Makes sence but I never heard that before

That's exactly right, the end of the run of that body style got the SE-i and that's the only time in the runs they were made (the last year). Before any says anything yes the car in my pic is an SE-i and no you can't tell because the badges were shaved.

actually this is true on the special edition. As you note the other accord generations have a special edition too. 1993 had one for the 4th gen, 1997 for the 5th gen, 2001 for the 6th gen accords. It did indeed mark the end of the generation and the next year would follow a new design.

As for SEi...production only existed in a 1989 model. There may be some SEi's sold in 1988 as a 1989 model.

-ivanfbi, are you sure you KNOW they are SEi. I believe all SEi's have leather, cupholders, rear disc brakes. The sunroof is in debate though as SEi had dealer installed moonroofs unlike LXi Sedans with factory installed moonroofs.
