Ok, so I hear that in order to be NHRA approved for battery relocation, you need:
1. A marine sealed box
2. The battery needs to be tied down IN the box
3. The BOX needs to be tied down to the car
4. And you need some kind of master cut-off switch

So, I found some nice kits on eBay, but none of them have cut-off switches.
I'm wondering if this is the kind of switch I need:

or if I need something more like:

The second one... the battery cut-off switch has to be externally mounted and well labeled so if a problem arrises someone outside the car can cut power easily (and if it's your daily driver your friends can drive you nuts by resetting your stereo settings all the time). :D

lol, that's awesome. i would totally do it if i had a friend with one, so i guess i can pretty much expect it from my friends...

so what's a good/common place to put this switch?

I sell the complete kit including the switches. Check out the first page of my store.

i'm sure that's a good price for the moroso kit, but i'm really just looking for something to get me by. i figure eBay quality is gonna have to be it this time. :(

i'm thinking about geting a spare tail light and puting the switch in there. is it somewhat easy to remove the tail light? on my friend's grand am, it's like 4 plastic wing nuts...lol
