Just got my new digital camera, & I'm painting my car the first of October. Here is some pics of it sanded down, with new pcp clear corners & molding that was missing. Will post some pics when it is all done.

Forgot to say that I'm going to go with a red color, maybe with some metallic flake in it. I'm painting the car with polyurethane paint and clear coating it. I plan on painting the tails all red, or smoke them. Not sure yet. I'll post some pics of it when I get it painted. :)

Don't forget to take off those wheel well guards on the back (hopefully they come off easily). Are you taking the interior out and painting the jams or just the outside? I want to get mine painted but I just really don't feel like doing all of the body work on the 1/4 panels, maybe if I can find some rust free panels in the j/y I'll do it though but finding that on the east coast isn't an easy task. Good Luck with the paint job! THats great if your spraying it yourself, I'd really like to but I really don't know how to paint with anything but a spray bomb.

edit: If your not painting it yourself and are taking it to a cheap place (eg: Maaco) to get it painted don't go with the poly paint or any of the extra sanding they encourage you to pay for. Go with the cheap old lacquer enamel since that stuff will actually shine longer than the thin clear coats they spray on the cars. Just my 2 cents from my Maaco experience, but then again every Maaco is different.

danronian: I do plan on painting the door jams, but I'm not taking out any interior. I don't have time next weekend to mess with the door jams, will do that later. The fender well guards will probably be taped off, don't think they come off easy, (some kind of press fit) might paint them too, not sure yet. I plan on painting the car myself. I've seen some Maaco jobs b4, some where ok, others where half ass. I will probably put 2 gallons of clear on it. I want a nice thick clear coat. I like enamel, shines good, but I'm going with polyurethane this time, little more expensive too. Will cost me about $400 after it is all said and done. It is little easier to fix problems such as runs.
Nice ol' school Chevy Malibu you got there.

It came with some cheap hubcaps, so I took them off. I plan on getting some rims in the future. Before I get rims, I need to find me some Koni reds or shortened shocks & struts for my lowering springs. That is going to be pricy. Not sure what to get first.
