hey when my car gets warmed up and gets to its normal temperature it starts smoking. i opened the hood and checked it out. from under the valve cover theres a little bit of film of some black stuff. im guessing its oil dripping out of the piston chamber and dropping on the manifold which is then burning it since its soo damn hot. when the car is cool there are a few drops of oil on the ground then it stops.

any other suggestions of what may be wrong? im gonna have some buddies check it out for me but im thinking im gonna have to buy a new seal for the cover to make it tight again. has this happened to anyone else? if so were there any problems?? thanks.

Yea it's most likely the valve cover gasket getting hard, brittle, and cracked, and leaking oil straight onto the exhaust manifold. Not uncommon at all (mine did it too), and super easy to fix -- about $10 and 15 minutes or so
