Hey guys I need some help/wisdom. I broke my gas/temp guage putting on Puals white faced ones, so I bought a whole new cluster off ebay. When I installed them everything work except my speedo is 10mph off. When im at 50 it says 60 :dunno: . So i got looking and notice my old cluster were made by NS and the new ones are Denso. So my question is, is the speedo gear in the Danso speedo cluster a different ratio from the NS cluster. Is there anyway to adjust this? Thanks for your time/help. :help:

You'll need the NS. I have one that I'll swap with you, for I needed the Denso and got the NS.

Try swapping the electrical unit on the back ...i forget what its called but, it converts the cable speed to electrical pulses via a reed switch design.

In a white box on the back of the unit!!!

The speed sensor thing is just for the cruise control. The speedo itself is analog.

I think you can simply swap your speedometer gauge to the new cluster and not worry about any gears, etc. At least that is what I have been told by some of the more experienced 3G owners.

Strange that is!!!

My car doesnt have cruise control!!

and after realising there was nothing wrong with the cable or drive in the gearbox I changed the unit!

My speedo is fixed now

Its actually called a 'Combination meter' an easy indication to test this is to check to see if your odometer is working!!?

If so its likely to be the 'Combination meter'. if not its more likely to be your cable or other problem!

Let us know how u get on!!

Civvy: You talkin to me? If so, my gauges are meant not to have a speed sensor because I dont have cruise. It works fine.

Well, then your gauges most likely doesnt have a speed sensor either.
