I've noticed that while I'm driving that the brightness off my clock is great while I'm driving but when I come to a stop at a light or a stop sign that it get's so dim that I can barely see it...what's up with that?

it might be your alternator, go get it checked at autozone ar advanced, some part store. they all do it for free.

Also check the condition and tension of the belt, along with the battery connections. Make sure all the connections are clean and tight.

I think it's a loose connection, I wack it and it gets brighter, can't be botehred with it, have clock in radio too. Polarized glasses can make it hard to see(the stock clock)

Yeah, if its just the clock, then the clock may be fubar. But if your rpms are dropping, and lights dimming >> alt or ground problem.

I had the alternator and belt replaced about 8 months ago but I think I'll get it checked while it's still under warranty. If it's just the clock I don't really care, if it goes it goes.

it's not the alt.
if the belt was loose, when you go to first start it in the morning you would know.
plus the battery light would come on.

I don't have any trouble starting the car but I usually have to start it twice. The first time I start it, it fires up fine and revs right up but then it dies. It only does it once per day and then it runs fine. My mechanic thinks it might be a dash-pot (whatever the hell that is).

WTF is a dash-pot?
