ok, i've been looking at some pacesetter headers, because they're like the only ones available. which are better, the ceramic or armor coated ones? i'm not even going to suggest the ones with black paint on 'em.

Ceramic and the armor coated pacesetter headers are the painted black ones.

from the pictures that they list on nopi, the armor coated ones are blue, and the ceramic ones are a shiny silver. how can all 3 be painted black and different prices?

does the pacesetter perform all that bad? or is the build quality the only prob. it is practically the same design as dc. probly copied.

Oh pacesetter must have made another crappy header :) It's funny b/c I have a pacesetter header. And yes the workmanship is horse crap compared to DC SPORTS but since you won't find a DC header you have to settle for low quality.

I have called a few places and they said pacesetter dont make the blue armor coated ones. Probably best to contact Pacesetter and ask about the blue coated ones. The guy at NOPI seemed liked he didnt know what was going on. When I gave him the part numbers for the blue/silver coating ones he said they didnt have them and it would be 2-3 weeks.
I just know I wouldnt spend 300 dollars on the coated ones when its the same poor quality. Just buy the black ones for 160 and coat them yourself because you can do a better job then they do.
A member on here has the silver coated ones and after a year it looked pretty bad. Coating was gone and rust was everywhere.

what exactly is the "armor" coating? personally, i would rather have a stock component than an extremely low quality aftermarket component, even if the aftermarket component did perform a little better.

the pacestter "armour coat" is a ceramic coating, thats just what they call it. a regular ceramic coating can have a blue metallic flake added to it, but it doesn't stay looking good for very long.

I have an armorcoated pacesetter, and it's done me right.......I blew a gasket though on the downpipe, a bolt came out.

Ceramic is the Armor coat...

Get the uncoated one that cost 160... it will be black but thats not high temp paint... have a shop strip and recoat the header with ceramic paint. Look in the HEADER link in my sig for companies that do coatings.
