yeah go to a honda dealer. the head bolts have a TTY (torque to yield). if your gonna do it right get the new head bolts. it'll make life easier down the road.

oh yeah....torque them in 3 stages...10-15ft lbs, 35-40 then 60...i think that was the spec i could be worng.. and always start from the middle and work outward in a clock wise rotation.

Our cars do not use torque-to-yield head bolts. Assuming they're not obviously damaged there's no reason not to reuse the old ones.

guys its all about stretch... if theyve stretched they should not be reused.

i don't see how you can stretch a bolt with only 49lb of pressure.
you will need a hole lot more to get them stretched.
i have reused my bolts so many times, it is not funny. they holding up great.

alex... one word: heat... cycle it 25,000 times and you have one seriously stressed bolt... i can't see it being bad if the car wasn't ever overheated or really pushed to its limits, but if your motor hasn't been in your possession that long, it's worth the piece of mind to replace the headbolts...

I have reused headbolts all the time. I never had any problems. Unless you are running boost or somesort of performance where you have huge power the headbolts won't stretch. I don't know anyone on this board who stretched his head bolts with stock motor.

yeah, im not gonna be running boost right now, i mean im puttin on a port and polished head but its not like im runnin high compression pistons or anything, so it shouldn't matter
