View Full Version : 4G Throttle body swap

I was looking for the "how to" thread on the 4G TB swap but for some reason could not find it. anywho, i have a few question on this.

1-the TPS, on the 3G it has a diff plug than the 4G. what do i do here? if i new which pins were wich i could just rewire. they both have 3 wires (or 3 pins)

2- there is one more vacumm line on the 3G than on the 4G but after comparing the two, it looks as though it isnt needed cuz it just makes a loop from the TB to the intake and to a check valve and back to the TB. i just cap that off and tear ass right?

thats it on the TB, but i was looking for the MAP and couldent find it, anyone know where the hell it is? i have a 4G MAP also and already have the pigtails swaped, just couldnt find the MAP, lol.

sorry to burst your buble of hopes, but you have 86 accord. 4G TB will fit only 88-89 intake manifold. plus 3G and 4G TB are the same size. so you won't see any diff unless you find overbored one, but even than, it won't fit.

no buble busted because it has been machined to fit. its also bored and polished. thanks anyway alex!

common guys, anyone know at all? if anything does anyone know where i could get the wire diagram for the TPS on a 3G and on a 4G?

i think you can just cut the 4G plug and solder the 3G plug to it. it should be the same setup. they wires are color coded. they may not be the same color but you should be able to figure out where they go since the pins in the plugs are in the same spots.

well on the 4G there is no pigtail. it is just a hard connecter strait out of the TPS. all i can see are three pins. they both have three wires and all but on the 4G there are no wires, its just a strain plug out of the TPS. that make since?

all 88+ Honda use the same TPS setup...

ok, does anyone have a TPS pigtail off of a 88+ honda?
