well with the holidays rolling around, my mom asked me what i might want, and i told her if anything it would be new rims or an engine rebuild kit.

my car is an 87 lxi
with 211k original miles on it.

here is a pic of my car:

I thought i had more pics on the ftp, ill try to get more on asap.

My first question is, has anyone here done a complete rebuild on a a20a1 engine? I have a machine shop down the street so thats no problem. I think they charge roughly 200 to bore everything. The rebuild kit i was lookin at can be found here: http://www.rpmmachine.com/enginerebuildkitshondatop.html

I also wanted to know what rims you thought would look best out of these 4.

these 3 are 17" with 205/40/17
or

this is 16" with 205/40/16

This fall i plan on doing some body work, gettin rid of that rust around the wheel wells, and removing the trim on the doors, and filling it in with sheet metal, i dont like that trim look. During this time im also gunna repaint it either jet black, or midnight blue with flake. So remember that when you pick which rims you like better. Any suggestions would be appreciated, cause im stuck, and dont know what i want.

hey so you never plan on lowering it durring this time frame of money put into it so when you get the rims you can be 4x4ing in style? the first rims or the next to the last one.

o of course, im not sure how much to lower though, i wanna see how high up it sits with rims on it.

i just got word yesterday though, that a guy dropped off a 89 lx at a mechanic my grandpa knows, but didnt have the money to make the engine repairs and left it for dead, so actually i might be building up a newer accord sooner

i was also wondering if anyone knows a place where i could possibly find a rebuild kit cheaper than $300.

i have rebuild my engine with a rebuild kit. it is the best thing you can do to an engine. rims may be nice but when you have brand new motor, it is even better.
you won't find rebuild kit any cheaper. go to autozone or advance autoparts to find a rebuild kit and save some money on shipping.

well i found a complete a20a1 engine on ebay for 450 with only 30k miles on it, so im thinkin i might just grab that, it will save me alot of work, but i kinda want to rebuild i dont know

the engine was taken off ebay, so

does anyone know a good site to find rebuild kits for right around $300 a complete kit, its for an 89 lx, btw i looked at autozone and they wanted $550 for the master kit
