I Got A Wierd Trany Problem

I GOT A WIERD PROBLEM the trany takes forever to kick threw the gears like my 86 uset to go threw the gears like crazy and my 87 blew the trany so i swapt in my 86 trany and it dosent drive like the 86 drove i think its the tv cabel adjutmen cause the trany is good or was good my 86 had a bs1 motor my 87 has a20a2 both carbd and how do i adjust the tv cabel and the throtel cable the tv cable is the same as my 86 i copyed the adjustment but my throtle cabel is tighter cause if i losen it up it becomes realy slugish

if it's holding gears (ie shifting at 4k or more) loosen the cable, and afterwards make sure that when you punch the pedal to the floor (have an assistant hold it down) the butterfly in the primary barrel of the carb is open all the way and that you can open the 2nd barrel w/ your hand
