hey guys,
well today my starter decided to srap out on me.
it spins just fine, but it won't engage to turn the motor over. It just spins there.
So my question is: how hard is to rebuild the starter? and can i use parts from auto tranny starters?
thanks a lot guys.

PS: the reason i am doing this is because i am on very very tight budget and i can't afford new starter unless i have to.

ok, the starter is rebuild or should i said swaped. i took the Auto starter and Manual starters and swaped the bases. everything else is the same. Oh, i have Mitsuba one.

The difference in auto and manual starters are the base that holds the whole thing together. it is very easy to swap. 3 philips screws and two long bolts. pull it out and drop it on new base. that is all you have to do.
