OK, I'm new to the whole Honda scene so if I end up asking something stupid don't flame me. There is a complete 1990 Acura Integra with b18(?) for sale for $500. The car was rolled but engine/tranny are comlete and in working condition. The ad says it's a GSR but I thought GSR's were only in 92-up tegs? I know something like this is going to sell fast, so I want some expert opinions on if it would be a good idea to buy and swap engine/tranny into my LX-i? Oh, and I did search for 90 GSR info and came up with nothing helpful.

Thanks Fellas

well the 92-93 gsr is a b17. maybe he had the b18c1's off the 94 and up tegs in his da teg. there are some b18 accords. i'm pretty sure it will be a hard swap. only swap for us that doesn't require substantial work is b20a. if you search "b18 swap" i'm sure it will come up.

1990 integras came with a b18a motor. It is OBD0 which makes it alot smoother for us to swap into our chassis.

A GSR of that year came only in 92-93 and in small numbers. They had a b17a which was the first VTEC integra in the states.

The youngest GSR 1.8 liter motor is a b18c from japan from a 93 model but DC chassis(94-01) not the DA chassis (90-93)

as far as swapping goes, go to the engine swap thread and there will be plenty of threads about the b series. Good luck on your journey and be prepared to spend for this project.

The LS motor is 140 hp. With Place Racing out of business and the entire swap now being custom, I wouldn't bother with this swap. It's nothing you can't achieve with a few mods to the A20.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I want to just mod my A20 but it has close to 250,00 miles , so I want to do a complete engine/tranny swap with low miles. As for the B20, where are you guys finding these? I've only seen the B20 out of the CRV for sale.

The CR-V B20 is the same swap as the LS only a little more difficult due to OBD stuff. You can rebuild your A20 for 500 bucks or less.
