Hey folks, i know this isn't a prelude forum but some 3g's have a b20, and you guys are so much better than preludepower.com
Im doing a tune up on my b20 tommorow and my timing light doesn't have a clip, it has a little spring that goes inline between the plug and wire....now because the pluges are recessed i can't get at it, and i was wondering if i could get away with attaching at the dissy. Will this affect it at all?

that should work ok as long as youre on the right wire at the dizzy... Pretty much all hondas you trigger off of cyl #1 to check timing.

alright. Tune up is done. The light didn't work very well so i just broke down and bought an inductive one.
Another b20 question......I dont have the sticker under my hood so im not sure what the plug gap is supposed to be. Anyone know?
I set them at .044 and it runs very well. The old ones i took out were anywere from .038 to .065
In closing, tune ups always rock. It feels like it has some power returned, it runs better, sounds better, and pulls harder!!! yay for me!

hey pimpy, u dont have to worry about the gap. Whatever they give u off the shelf is preset to stock. Usually they are set colder, like 0.1mm smaller than the stock max requirement. So u will be alright. Seems like u got it.
LOL, i just called u pimpy didnt i?

lol yes thats fine.
its almost as in real life. People call me paulie all the time. it drives me nuts
just a side note: I now get over SEVEN HUNDRED km to a tank of gas. I think the tank is like 60L or so....anyone care to translate into mpg?
-paul....err paulie.

ok here goes...someone catch me if i screw up
1 liters = 0.264172051 US gallon therefore
60L = 60*0.264172051 = 15.9 gallons
1 kilometer = 0.621371192 miles therefore
700km = 700*.621371192 = 434.95miles
434.95 miles for 15.9 US gallons = 27.35mpg
hmm thats it? I would have though it would be greater......now im not happy at all.

Well, if you check the shop amnua for the B20A, the gap should be precisely written.
You can find the manual for the Accord on www.pauldesign.ru
Since I'm on the graveyard shift at work and got nothing to do, I checked the gap specs for you :D
The specs are 0.039 - 0.043

the best way to figure out your gas mileage is to go with how many gallons/liters you put in when you fill it up. like say, you fill it up with 14 gallons, so take the 434.95/14(not 15.9) = 31.07mpg
