Hello I race a 86 accord 4 door auto carbed on a 1/3 mile track I have a 86 coupe manual fi sitting in the garge I want to race after some floor pan work. Would you very wise people have any pointers on giving me a liitle more power and handling. Cannot use air intakes have to use stock. It's a stock class but there is ways around everything. Let me know what yea got thank you very much

flip the lid on the carb, it'll give you like 1/2hp. hmm..... look in the how too for some other stuff too, i don't know anything that would be directly useful right now.

list for us what things you can't change... there are plenty of ways we can make you faster...

did you remove PS and AC? not that that will give much power but it's some weight reduction, plus ditching the condensor in front of the raditor helps cooling.

did you add any transmission coolers to the carbed auto car?
Have you tried removing the throttle value cable and locking the throttle value lever on the trans aproximately 2mm away from its maximum range of upward travel...
It helps going around corners by consitantly downshifting at low rpms and keeping the revs high... which also slows you down just enough to make the turn (engine brake) so you come out of the turn fairly strong, if not stronger then using the tv cable the normal way.
And if you need to donwshift manually you still can with the shift lever.


Don't expect the trans to last though... if you don't have proper fluid cooling.
