im talking to a guy right now who makes turbo manifolds for b series honda engines. does this mean that the manifold would fit domention whys. what im getting at is if he takes and a20 flange and puts a b series manifold on it..will it fit?

No, it needs to be a completely custom manifold.

Im sure it could be done but your going to want to find a manifold with ports that are as close to the A20 as possible. Im going to get a new manifold eventually for the B20A and im probably going to do just that. The problem is the A20A and even the B20A for that matter are very irregular and the A20A especially. But it can be done its just a matter of getting all 4 ports to line up and flow well. The downside is good manifolds are relatively expensive so it wont be cheap unless you get a cheap manifold which tend to crack.

this is the email he sent me "all the headers i've been making are for b series honda's . will these fit your guys car? if so i will give a group deal for two. if they are different styles i'm not taking on anything just right now because of how busy i am . sorry. but hit me back if a b series will work. thanks"

Well i know they wont fit so it seems like he can't do it at the moment. There are tons of shops but for a turbo manifold you have to make sure its done right with good welds or it will crack from the heat. If i were you i would go to a junk yard and grab a bunch of exhaust manifold gaskets and see if any have ports that match up to the A20. That is the cheapest way to find out which one will work best and then have the flange swapped out. It may turn out that none match all that well and you may be better off having a company do a whole new manifold.

Look at this thread

The A20 flange can be adapted to fit a B series manifold but it usually would be cheaper to make a manifold from scratch... also, turbo placement and fitment issues arise if you want to mate the B series turbo pipes to the A20 flange.

Start off placing the turbo where you want it and build the manifold around the turbo placement... that will give you the least complications in the end.

In the past i've just left the complete exhaust system inc. the turbo positioning to the exhaust specialist. He takes the car for the day on his trailer and uses the car as a jig to make the most of what he's got and you only have to specify how loud you want it & how the tail looks. oh. and my friend specified he wanted the wastegate flange to operate on all four cyls.
The end of the day the car comes back and has a long guarantee and was designed by guys that design exhausts for a living. This way you wouldnt be worrying about it failing in a year or two.
Exhausts are great. They can be made for anything in anyway but they just cost a fortune altho so would a brand new stock system from Honda.

wait, i thought our B20A had the same type exhaust side as the USDM lude B20A5 block. So cant they get the turbo manifolds for these cars and use it on our 3g B20A???

They do but they dont make turbo manifolds for the B20A5 either. There are a few guys that have in the past and you might be able to find one if your lucky so its the same as the accord A20.

Doesn't the Prelude B20 lean back instead of forward? That would cause fitment issues as well.

yes it does. The manifold works but you nees to change the downtube. Thats what i did anyways

steve your right cause if he would have read my ques. he would have read the post by smufguy:THIS IS IMPORTANT. No other turbo manifolds will fit this motor either directly or extra holes drilled. Nothing can be adapted to this block due to unique exhaust ports. If someone tells u that you can adapt a eclipse (DSM) header, well they are wrong. It works on the motors of accords from 90-97. i just tried to see if a b or d series flange would fit and it doesnt. if you look at the a20 flange it has vertical oval ports that are spaced with two close together in the middle an two on the outside, now as where b series flanges have horizontal oval ports and are spaced evenly. btw the bolt holes arent even close.
