something up with the performance

Well a few weeks ago i lost my gas cap.. ooh well but i just bought on yesterday and i put it on. I may be carzy for thinking this but i think it has an impact. because this mroning and all day today when i was driving.. it would get up to 20km and then i would have to like push on the gas as hard as i can.. and it would slowly go up.. and maybe about 30sec later.. it would speed up.. what is up with that?

the pump has to do less work because the pressure in the gas tank helps push fuel through the fuel line.
