white faced gauges??

well i was on puals site, and i seen his guages that you can download.
i was wanting to know if anyone had done this already, i mean use the guages from his site?
plus i was thinking that, either i should take off the regualr gauges then put on his gauges, or either i leave the regular's on and put on his on top, but i would need a brighter bulb?

so which is better, i searched already so don't flame me.
and i can't afford the ones from ebay, so this is the next thing better . . . .

but, homey i don't have the cash for that now....
but, it would be nice to do that, get some real ones, but i can settle for his gauges now.

some people printed them out on photopaper pasted them on the original gauges, and used stock lighting, i did that and u could see it, but not too good, some people added a strobe light(neon light) on top of the gauge itself to help illuminate it better

i made my own gauges back in the day, then i gave in and bought the reverse glows because they are much nicer looking.

do ya reacon putting a black light in there woule be cool? Also ive tried this one when i first got onto this site couldnt get them on cause to hard to make the holes in the paper whats the best way?? and can u take off the guage pins?

I did it as well. I took Paul's and made guides so I could make my own colors/design of the guages.

These are not the right size. I can send you the Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file if you want. I may be able to do it in .pdf as well.

Damn thanx for dragging up an old thread man. Mine slowly started pealing up from humidity in the car. I would consider having them printed on sticker vinyl. Either take it to s sign shop or buy a sheet of sticker vinyl for inkjet printers and do it yourself.

I did mine pretty well. It took me about 6 hours total, because I took my time....I decided to go back to stock though and just took them out. But they looked hella sweet in!

i thought about looking into getting them custom made into indiglos.., but i never got around to it. i've ended up with full indiglos for my 4dr and reverse for my 2dr(not installed yet).

stick with the stock gauges fellas. If u guys badly need a new look. Get some UV led and see what it does. Im still looking into UV cathode tube so that only the white parts illuminate purple. And all we got on the stock are white needles and white numbers and letters. Indiglo gauges do look sweet, but people were complaining about the transistor whine.

i bet JIm can technically explain the transister whine i mentioned. It was in the set people got from Procarparts. So i dont know if its just theirs did it or all of em. THe first one i saw was in Justin (the white turbo hatch) car. It looked really cool. But i dont know, i think i like my stock ones better not to mention im stingy to put money into a gauge :(

i was'nt really into em' but then i seen a 3g that had the part where it goes around the gauges and the indicator lights, painted... and i thought thats not bad.
i like the stock gauges only at night though because i have it set up to light up the gauges only.......
i think that's pretty neat.
it seems though back then white on black was the coolest thing...
now it's black on white.

I have the White gauges but they look a lil different than Pauls.... Plus I did a little modding to my gauge project... I made a how-to about 2yrs ago or a year ago... cuz what i did Is add 2, 9inch Black neon lights into the lip part of the gauge cover and it made it look like indiglo but i dunno if that thread is still around.... But if so itz there and I gave some specific step by step instructions.... You can try to search it but like I said I'm not sure if the thread is around, but chances are, it may be... k lataz.

Yeah I've seen em from that site b4... they are fa king sweet as hell.... I would of gotten them sooner if I had the money so instead I did my own lil custom work... I mean itz great that we are starting to see a lil more aftermarket support for our cars, but yet if u custom make something for our 3geez, it makes it more special.... LOL but yeah I would also start buying aftermarket stuff thats available 4 our cars...

my brother had adobe photoshop and he made em fit. it took him 5 or 6 tries but he got em to work i like 2 hours

the speedo and tach come off with no problem... as for the temp and gas i don't know....

its because the gauges themselves have the blue-green paint painted on the back side. So u need to strip that paint if u want it to be in a different color.

he did. he also has an aftermarket wheel now, and he got rid of the huge tach. I actually like his interior the way it is now more than when it like that.
