im getting a p&p head that is milled to 10:1. i want higher compression than stock but nothing too high. if i do anything i put nitrous on it but not for awhile longer. want kind of head gasket should i get and how thick? my mods are header, openloop cam, adj cam gear, dcoe(in the mail). i dont know what size gasket to get and what kind of fuel pump i should get. thanks

I didn't know you can get a thicker gasket... it makes sense to get a thin gasket if you want to raise compression on a stock motor, but you already raised the compression... just get a fel-pro gasket.

remember if you're shaving the head you bring the valves closer to the pistons...

Openloop welded in areas of the head to increase compression... that is a better method them shaving the head.

i thought i read somewhere that they have copper head gaskets for our cars. well what about the fuel pump?

Walbro Fuel Pumps at autoperformanceengineering.com
'86-'89 Honda Accord 2.0L
- 190 lph pump and install kit #FPH016 $84
- 255 lph pump and install kit #FPH017 $99
- High press. 255 lph pump and install kit #FPH018 $114

I've got the 190 lph pump, the guy said it will support up to 300hp, and will pump about 50psi at full throttle.

what is the peak and constant pressure does your set up need? then look for the pump that can do that and get one right above it. Get a Fuel gauge and an Adjustable fuel press regulator and ur done.

when it comes to carbs, it is not the pressure you have to worry, it is the amont of fuel the pump can pump.
i think if you stick with 4psi pressure and get high volume pump, you should be alright.

the craziest thing that i have seen was a car running 34psi of fuel pressure and it was a carb. i was like wtf????? shit was running 8s and they said it was doing bad. I was like huh??? thats damn fast for me. Anyway, like alex said, a pump that can pump out high volume and not choke at its peak pressure would be ur right choice.

if you can double stock amount of fuel you should be fine with DCOE.
