EGR PIPE fitting in DC Sports Header.

Well, i have a dc sports header D-370-1 if that makes any difference. The thing is the egr pipe doesnt even come close to the fitting on the dc sports header. Is there even a way to fit it on? I tried putting in the EGR pipe first then attempt to slide the header onto the block but the studs prevent me from doing anything.



My options right now
go back stock
somehow get that egr pipe to bend in (almost 2 thumbs distance)
extend the pipe of the Egr pipe to fit it.

Your are going to have to remove the Dizzy and the Thermastat housing at the head.
Pretread the egr pipe to the header and then you can angle the header in. Its going to be alittle tight but you can get it in. Put the egr side on the 2 studs first and then use alittle persistance pry bar to help slide to header over the #4 cylinder studs, since the header is rare and out of production you don't want to risk cross threading the header or the egr pipe. I even bought a new egr pipe $56.00 from majestic because my old pipe threads were pretty trashed, wish I were close to my old you pull a part junkyard.
And I also bought some new longer bolts for the down pipe with nuts to give it some extra holding/clamping. M12 1.25 33mm got them at Autozone $5.00

im running with that hole right now..and drives like ass.. =\ sounds like a lawnmower till i have time to get it to work.. good thing i have a spare car to use =)

You could use a spark plug to plug the hole in the header and fab a metal gasket at the EGR out of a coke can, until you have time to do it right. Not sure how it will run but it won't sound like a lawnmower.

if you were not in CA id say just cap off both ends..... all it does is throw a code

I give up on it, i guess i'm going to lose money and just sell it back out i suppose. It's only been on for a day to drive to home depot and back.

It's not worth the trouble to lose egr since i live in california. I dont have the time to search for people to "pass" my car. i'll just reverse back to stock. California sucks ass. :(

If youplug the Pipe on the header then any gasket can plug the EGR valve since it is no longer recieving exhaust gasses

here are pictures i forgot to post.. Thats a big way to bend....is it me or do other EGR fittings on the dc sports header look closer to the first left bolt?

man, the only think i could tell you is to try and heat up the pipe and bend it out of the car and then try it out and if that doesn't work, sell me your headers, ill give u 150 for em plus shipping haha

You have plenty of room. disconnect the P/S holding bracket from the head this will give you plenty of room. :rockon:
