Ok for those that remember me, i'm back now.
THis is the story, for the last year I've been without the Honda, auto transmission died start of this year, so it's taken a long time to get it done.
Mainly money reasons, dodgy mechanics and difficulty in getting a DECENTLY priced transmission plagued it all.
Finally today its back. I was about to sell it, then changed my mind. At the moment the car is un-registered, and as far as i'm concerned its a project to do.
Over the next couple of weeks, I will start sanding the paint back, (removing all the dodgy accident repair work from when I first bought the car) fixing all the dents, some mine, some others, and some from the car sitting in the dodgy mechanics yard.
I'm planning to repsray in either the original B49M blue, or maybe a slightly darker blue. Or possibly what i'd really like is to do the car in Ford Phantom Purple, which is a colour on the 260kw 6cyl Falcon XR6 Turbo's :D Exclusive to australia. Engine wise, the car is in dire need of a tune up, oil change, new spark plugs, proper transmission service, TV adjustments, brake fluid change, new brake pads, new tyres, interior shampoo. The works. The body work will be my priority for the moment, I just just want the car to look good till I can afford something newer and better. If all goes well I might be able to eventually afford an XR6 turbo in another 1.5-2 years.
As for me, lifes alright. Still studying, half way through a diploma in electronic engineering. I'm currently working in sales for a Woolworths out electrical retail outlet. Just bought my first investment property, so my days of willy nilly spending are pretty much over. Been with my girlfriend Sarah for the past one and a half years.
Car wise, I sold the Mitsubishi Starion/Conquest i'd been working on early in the year, got sick of the money pit it was becoming, I miss working on it, and intend to own another one. But after realising it was going to cost me alot to get it to suit my vision, I just realised I couldn't afford it at this present point in life.
Next, in Australia Ford is about to unleash the FPV (Ford Performance Vehichles) Typhoon, its a modified XR6 turbo, with a 6speed transmission, turbo'd inline 4ltr motor, with 270kw at the wheels and 550nM or torque. More than any other australian production car, and for $56,000 Australian or about $39200 US its very affordable. It's got more torque than the 6.0Ltr LS2 powered HSV Commodores.
