So yeah. This really sucks. It's been POURING rain the last couple days and was going home from a friends house. At the end of his street it gets REALLY steep and curvy. I was not speeding at all and when i started to turn right the car lost traction and kept going forward, turned the wheel all the way to the right and kept going forward so i hit the brakes and hit the guard rail going about 5mph. It sucks because I don't have a job yet so it's going to be like this for a while. A little further up the road I had locked up my brakes to avoid hitting a dog which I missed by about 6". I know I'll need a new left front fender and headlight assembly. Will I also need a new headlight motor? The hood is a little bent in the corner but I'm just going to keep it how it is since it's not that bad and I think I can probably get it bent back close enough to how it was. Does anyone have any idea how much a body shop would charge to spray a fender and headlight assembly the color of my car, since the chances of me finding another asturias gray car in the junkyard is going to be hard I think.

They shouldnt charge more then.$100-150 for the paint and you shouldnt need a new motor.

That sucks! At least its broke in the up position, does the light still work?

Yeah, the light still works. It was facing up, but i just messed with it and managed to jam it so that it points straight ahead so i can still drive it at night. Although I heard something snap when I did that. I think it was just a plastic tab or something, oh well, it's getting replaced anyways

Hey underdog
Sucks bout crashing up your fender. Come see me at work......we do small paint and body stuff now. You can get junk yard parts and we can paint it for LOTS cheaper than a body shop.

ouch, looks like you'll need a new fender and headlight housing, i think the motor should work fine after everything is back into shape.

that sucks dude, I bet you could take the quarter panel off and tap it back out, my car got smashed on the drivers side once, I picked up a bumper from a junkyard for $30 and then painted it with bumper paint, looks 10 times better. I htink are cars just suck in the rain, I have spun out so many fing times in my car in the rain it isn't funny.

Tomorrow my friend and I are going to remove the fender and take a rubber hammer to it so it looks not as bad until I can afford to replace it.

Ouch, but I don't think you'll need a new motor because I didn't when I had the same type of accident. Probably need a new housing but everything's easy to fix )except the fender).

Have fun! ;)

When you get some cash, get a fender form a junk yard. Sand it down with 320 grit, & primer it. That would save you a little money at the body shop. I'll say it could cost about $100. Bend that hood back down, it doesn't look too bad.

We took the fender off yesterday and took a rubber mallet to it, looks a little better but not very good still. At least the hood has clearance to completely close now. Called about 15 junkyards and the cheapest headlight assembly was $30 and I didn't have that much then. I at least got some practice removing the bumper and fender. Haha.
