Idiot Light: Brake Lamp?

The first time I depress my brake pedal after I start my 87 LX-i the idiot light for brake lamp lights up and stays on until I turn the car off. I have checked the brake lights and it seems there isn't a problem they work with the headlights on or off and the tailights come on with the headlights so I am not sure what the idiot light is trying to tell me.

Anybody else have this problem or know what might be causing it?

I had this same problem not too long ago, it turned out to be the circuit box on the back of the taillamp that was causing the brake lamp light to come on. I believe the circuit checks to see if the brake lamp is out. It's the box in the middle of the taillamp, I replaced it and the light went off.

I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the same light, but a low brake fluid level will make the dash brake light come on and stay on. Good luck fixing this; dash lights can be such a piss off.
