I was looking at some Accords with auto tranny lately,most have this matel clashing noise when moving the shifter form P to D or D to P, is it normal for this vantage cars?

every single honda i have driven that were auto do that. Up until the 6th gen hondas. It could be accords, civics, suvs and what not, all do that. Only the 7th gen accords dont. Its normal i guess, but if ur completely stopped the sound is not that obvious, but if the car is in light motion, it happens. But also, sometimes the shifter might be real hard to shift during winter or what not. It possibly could be a dirty tranny fluid or something, i dont know.

It can also be a bad tranny or motor mount. My 86 LX-i has a bad motor mount (the one near the intake manifold). I can actually see the engine rock back and forth when put in D or R.
