Here's his H/U:http://12.41.28.254/panasonic/CQC8200U.jpg

Um, I like the way it looks, but honestly, I have never owned a single Panasonic HU that actually sounds good straight outta the box, the last one I had was a freakin' CQ-DFX801U. ($430+ new) http://www.carstereoworld.com/Images/panasonic/801.jpg
It looked really cool, but man, it only really sounded good and clear when I finally ran all of my highs through a 4-channel amp; the subs were always on the sub-output, and it worked pretty good like that, but man, it was almost too much work to run four more channels of RCA Cables and upgrade from 8- to 4-AWG Wire, especially since I already had the 8-AWG and my two channels of RCA Cable for the subs ran through the car, when I got my 3G, I simply sold the Panasonic to a friend for $250, put about $75 with that $250, and bought my Pioneer Premier DEH-P650.

Hands down, I like the Pioneer 100% better, it has a flashy display and looks good, but it does its simple function: play my music clearly, accurately, and as loud as I want it with very little distortion even at intense volumes, and it does all these things very well. It also has a seperate sub-channel (6 ch. RCA outs), with a strong built-in x-over, so my subs get a strong, clean siganl that doesn't fade as volume increases, (like the more expensive CQ-DFX801U did), as for my highs, well, I sold the Punch 400a4, kept 4-AWG wire so I could finally get a Power 800a2 for my subs, then I simply hooked up my 6 1/2's to the stock wiring in the car, and installed the headunit, no external amp this time (except for my subs)...

So, IMO, I dont really care for Panasonic, some will agree, some will disagree, but I have owned a few different Panasonics, and they all performed about the same, I gave in and bought one of the most expensive models made, and still didn't like it, but my opinion is just that...an opinion. :) Good luck with your system man.

acually im really pleased with it .... besides that it shuts off by itself sometimes.... but its being replaced under warranty for that .... it sounds much better than my prevous sony hu.... acually its funny you mention the Pioneer DEH-P650 because that was one of the other decks i was considering but my first cd player i had was a pioneer and i didnt like it all that much

i've had bad experiences with pioneer stuff... that deck looks like a good one... the panasonic and that pioneer... i guess i just don't like my CD player... i've used a pioneer deh-p4500mp, and i like it... i've also used a really nice old eclipse, and i would be using it, but i tore it down to repair the broken LCD, and never got it back together... i wish i could find the schematic for that unit...

yeah, i agree with with koney, pioneer>all for price and quality(i have the DEH-7600). Panasonic's arent that bad though, especially the one you got(it looks kick ass). Good luck building your system back, i know how it is getting it all stolen.
