are the remote start alarms from ebay any good/reliable for the $$$$?

there appear to be 3 different kinds of remote start alarms for like $100 +s&h

which of these 3 (if any) would be the best buy?

also do 89 lx-i's come with power door locks? or do you have to install actuators yourself? is there a DIY write up on any of these topics?

thanx,

I have looked at them, but never bought one. I'm gettin a Compustar on Monday :). Little more expensive than those though. If you need any help installing it feel free to ask!

89 LX-i's sedans have power door locks. The coupes and hatchbacks do not. You will have to install actuators. As far as the best of those 3, pick one that has the features you want. They will all work. You will need to bypass your clutch safety switch tho. There is a little connector that plugs into a sensor type thingy at the top of the clutch pedal. Unplug that and run a jumper between the 2 pins or cut the plug off and splice the wires together.

Or you can temporarily bypayss it using a 3 ignition output (or status output) from the remote starter and wiring up a relay. If you end up getting one of those let us know how it works.
