this should clear up the confusion about whats req'd to make this work...

/\ in this pic you can see that the stock fuel rail has 4 nuts holding it down and the mani has holes for 3,THE STOCK RAIL WILL NOT WORK! MUST USE 2ND GEN TEG

/\ this shows how many holes line up to start with. The 5th "port" is the water jack everyone refers to

this project so far hasnt cost over $200 Check ebay;)

the only problem i have so far is... the t/b holes are WAY off.

not totaly off topic
but if a b16 manifold can be ghetto fabricated to fit...couldnt the ITB they sell for the b16 engine be alos fabricated a bit to fit..
just a thought..
good luck with ur project..
check out
houston-imports.com
some people sell a lot of crap daily..you might find a throttle body from b16

that's the same mani i have, except i didn't get the polished one. i have considered doing the ITB from a b16 though, it is quite tempting...

You still need the idle regulator figured out and was there one more thing hmm I cant remember right now.. tired..

you dont need an iacv, i shaved mine off a long time ago! You do, however, have to keep it plugged in

So Hondamanlxi, what did you do with the iacv since you don't have it connected to the manifold??? When I did my b16 mani. swap I connected it to the rear and it functions like stock.... :)

hondamanlxi
01-05-2005, 09:48 AM
i just zip-tied it out of the way! It was giving me hell and i disabled it! no more vroom, idle, vroom, idle, vroom;)

PS: the t/b i used was off of a LS motor but i only got 3 holes to line up

AccordEpicenter

yeah im curious? Does the stock one fit also?

hondamanlxi
01-05-2005, 09:55 AM
well i used a bored ls t/b on my stock mani, so i guess it would work....

Oh, and the stock linkage bracket just has to be fliped around, not modified!

Notice any increase in power?

joker2
01-05-2005, 11:39 AM
OK, I see what you're doing now.... No water lines connected to it also... I might have to hook mine up like that... I wonder why it hasn't thrown you a code because I always thought that the iacv got some type of temperature reading from the water lines to let the ECU know when the car is at normal operating temperature.... :)

hondamanlxi
01-05-2005, 12:22 PM
there is a little plunger in there that you can extend if you want (gives ecu illusion of running temp), but i didnt mess with mine

joker2
01-05-2005, 12:29 PM
OK, well as long as I know that you didn't have to make any adjustments to it to fool the ECU and the car runs fine then I'll try it because that just cuts out one more component that the water has to flow to..... :)

hondamanlxi
01-05-2005, 01:24 PM
EXACTLY! less water in the mani = colder air

Let us know how you like it when you take it out on the streets..... I know when I finally got everything tuned right the car pulled like crazy through redline but that could also contribute to the new cam I have in there as well.....

I definately feel the restriction of the A20 manifold on the B20A. Im getting a B16 BBK Manifold with TB and B16 IACV and FI all new so no headaches.

hondamanlxi
01-05-2005, 06:41 PM
i definatly need a t/b! and as for a cam....i got one pending right now...

Lucky for me when I got my b16 mani. it came with the t/b..... :)

01-06-2005, 08:02 AM
Well Rob, the A20 and B20A manifolds are the same (so we might as well call it the A20 manifold). That thing is just pure crap.

An upgraded manfold will unleash the hidden power :D

joker2
01-06-2005, 08:06 AM
Carot, I'm surprised that you b20 guys haven't went with an upgraded mani. yet seeing how we all use the same weak A20 mani...... :)

yeah i can feel the restriction big time. I want to hit the dyno like this but i may not have the time. I wanted to compare the manifold with the b16 because i think it would be a big increase in our cases. Then i wanted to dyno it with the AEM EMS but no turbo to see how much that added. But we just got another snow storm so i had to park her again. Overall she is running great i fixed all the little things (valves, mount, axle) and the only problem im having at the moment is the idle acts up sometimes when i push the clutch in it bounces below 1k and then back up and down. I assume this is something with the IACV of FI but it only does it on occasion. So im hoping to get the BBK manifold and TB soon to swap it out but its like $800 with all new sensors and TB.

joker2
01-06-2005, 09:14 AM
DAMN!!! $800, I hope it's worth it.... But I'm pretty sure if you look around you can find it cheaper.... :)

01-06-2005, 09:15 AM
cool write up. i may just end up using my b16 manifold after all, did you use the stock TPS in the integra tb, or did you use the complete integra tb.

hondamanlxi
01-06-2005, 05:40 PM
yeah its the stock TPS ( the teg one woulda worked, their all the same)

DAMN!!! $800, I hope it's worth it.... But I'm pretty sure if you look around you can find it cheaper.... :)

Well the TB and BBK Intake manifold are about $600. I like the BBK design so thats why i want it rather than a cheaper one and the TB is about the going rate then i need the IACV and FIV so why cheap out on used ones when i spent that much already. These will be the last upgrades to the engine for awhile as im working on the body now. :)

My ebay power-plus mani is made by the same peeps as bbk! Just trying to save you so cash(too late)!

now as for the tps and t/b their is no cheap way around these, except to use the the orginal tps

"Where's the EGR!!???!?" :uh:

hondamanlxi

fack an egr! mines been LONG gone! the only code it throws is a "egr lift sens"

bobafett
01-09-2005, 03:20 PM
does that affect the way the car runs when the CEL is on?

RobT5580

does that affect the way the car runs when the CEL is on?
No, It just lets you know the EGR is not opening or closing.

The IACV? The piece on the back of the manifold that is the main cause of surging idle? It has a connector? Not on mine.

hondamanlxi
01-09-2005, 10:11 PM
no, orginally, its on the front of the plenum! That thing on the back is the fast idle valve... take the top plate off and screw in the plunger to kill your fast idle
