It is just a spar slot for ad-ons so you don't have to cut your dash. Fog light switch, car alarm....

I wonder if anyone has factory fog lights and if that is where the switch is?

well there is harness plug right behind the panel... clicks right on the back of the plain panel

It's for a sunroof. If you have a coupe, a sunroof is a dealer installed option or aftermarket and is most likely why it has a different switch location.

The factory fog light switch is beside the cruise control switch.

oh... so can those wires be tapped into for something else?
im assuming (since i cant remember) there is going to be an empty panel aswell next to the CC which would be for the factory fogs... so is my car prewired for fog lights (will there be a harness behind tha blank slot {if there is one})? if so can i just tap into that harness and use that run aftermarket fogs... if ever?

There's no plug for the fog lights. You'll need to consult a wiring diagram to see where the wires for the sunroof switch go. Then you'll be able to use them for whatever you want.

i had my after market fogs in there next to the cc but i put a switchin the knockout for my led washer jets. and the switch for the fogs next to it. the hole next to the power mirrors is for the sunroof.

how do you get that panel off?

it just pops right out. really easy.

I believe that space is also there for the optional mugen adjustable suspension that was available in japan as a dealer option.

I was wondering what it was there for too.
My guess was some kind of switch for the auto tranny (mine's 5 speed) like choosing between power and economy like some cars have. But I didn't think that was it.

you can push it out from behind. its not hard to pull it out at all. its almost just sitting in there. if you have cruise control, you can pull the CC switch out by grabbing onto the button and pull it out so you can push the other one out from behind.

Leia - usually the sport/standard button is on the gear shift in hondas, but i dont think that came as an option on the 3g's

AHA! Got it, it has a little clip at the TOP that holds it in and sorta hinges at bottom, so prying from bottom don't do it....

I went from underneath and poped clip off with flat head screw driver and then it just hinged forwrard and out from top.....

**edit: Haveing read your follow up NSX, maybe some people no longer have clip? Mine was not easy like cruise control is*****

That's what should go where, that's not the stock factory moonroof switch, but I do have one that I'm going to put in when I get the interior back together.

You guys have the sticker in the window for your registration also. Washington hasn't figured it out yet, we have stickers that go on the license plate and after 15 years the pile of stickers is a 1/4 inch thick

Your are sometimes told to scrape the old stickers off in Cali. Theives steal them (current reg)if they are stacked as it is easy to cut through from below, but I like the stack.....

In PA the window sticker is the inspection and emissions (two stickers side by side) and the license plate is the registration sticker.

That sticker you see in my window is actually a Jersy inspection sticker, it had some time left on it yet, so I let it expire before I got my PA inspection and emission sticker. When we do registration though, it says right on the mailing to scrape the old sticker off the plate before putting the new one on.

It does? Guess I didn't pay attention, hehe.
But we also have the little recessed area on the plate for the sticker, which would be good if they start to pile up.
