Thats a good price. But if I were you and looking to get a new motor I would just wait and save a little extra cash and get a B16A or something. Only $1300 with tranny and all the necessary things for a swap. Also add $300 or so shipping.

Something I would like to do somtime.

the engine monts put the price well over 1300 you are looking at at least 3000 for the swap.

maybe i'm confused on this, but what is so great about an A20A1 for 780 bucks?

well I paid 800 bucks for an 87 A20A1 with 120,000 miles on it
and it came with a complete functioning 87 Accord Hatchback.
Is it the fact that it's a Japan unit with supposedly less than
40,000 miles?

ya, i think its because it has such low km, but it would be nice to save up the dough for a b16

okay guys, before we go on and say that i might have paid too much..

other "Company's that import japanese motors WITH 35,000 to 40,000 wantd anywhere from 750 to as high as 890 a motor shipped. I got mine for 699 plus 80 bucks for all that gaskets that are needed.. now i know that 80 bucks wasnt too good of a deal BUT , i wanted a peice of mind not worry that i didnt get the right gaskets and everything. all in all it came out to 780 shipped

and the fact that it's warranted for a year WITH unlimited miles.... that wass perfect for me due to the fact that i'm goin to mod the motor and if it blows prematurely, i'll be able to replace it for free.

:D

of course i could save for a b16, but i dont want a b16 i want a b18c1 or b18c5 motor or just turbo a LS motor.

but the fact i need a motor now and that i'm not even close to doing a efi swap at the moment i'll just replace and drive afew years till i get money to go bigtime.

have you tried to look for JDM B20.
I think carotman said we can use it with carburator.

spending 800 bucks on a stock motor, unless ur financially dead like me, its always best to buy a swappable motor like the B16 or even the B20 if possible. if ur a efi dude, ur even luckier. so have the extra cash and invest in the motor that has a lot of upgrade options.

i feel your situtation buddy, i am in the same constrained right now. what most ppl dont do is that go to an auction or go to police impounds or wreckers, get a car that is not damaged in places u need and u can get a whole car for around 300 bucks max. u got wiring harness and u got everything. taking it out and ripping it apart is a pain, but for the money, its a nice shot at customing ur own. the other day, this dude ripped the whole head and the cam off a prelude and seeing him made me wanna just punch him in the face for not taking the whole engine cause once the head is gone, the damn engine is gonna get rusted and gonna be unusable. ppl dont know the value of that engines.
