why increase oil pressure?

you DONT want to increase oil pressure. It can cause all kinds of damage to your motor.

Actually i wondered the same thing after i'd looked in the how-to's

if youre in a high rpm/high hp situation it can be beneficial to raise your oil pressure somewhat. If you raise it very high on a stock application there isnt really much benefit and you can blow seals etc. Usually using different oil weights produces an oil pressure change
