I've done some mods to my Accord(Today) and gained some fairly sweet go.., One thing I have noticed is that rippin anround in the city I get way more preformance in D3 (Auto), I'm usually never bustin 70Kmph and even accelerating hard to 70 It's only @ 4 grand. Is it a problem to use D3 in the city all the time.? Comments on Pro's and con's would be sweet, Ie. is it hard on the tranny.??? THNX IN ANVANCE YALL..

Nothing thats incredible, Just small stuff. (CAI, Flow Pro Exaust, MSD.),
no big deal, but there's alittle more there. but in D3 its just better preforming.

dude i know D3 gives you more power because it shifts later, no1 in this forum reads their owners manual for the automatic transmission. Yes there is more power to D3 than D4, because the gear ratios are different, and in D3 it shifts later, I.E. more power. When it gets to about 6 in 3rd ur gonna wanna shift it into D4.

well, yes, it puts more wear and tear on it because it shifts later, more heat, etc.

u shud read that thread man! it really helps. A20A1 i didnt know u had an auto!

Basically what it says is put it in d3, then shift into d2, then d3 again, then d4
it lets you rev higher per gear.

What i would really love for a 3g is a sportronic transmission!
That wud be badASS

No, but there is still the extra stress from running in the higher rpm's... so it's only as safe as your driving. I've added extra cooling and have never had problems with my trans. I posted the links in hind sight, since you were happy with your D3 discovery I'd thought I'd share the rest of what's out there for the Auto.

if you drive much at all in D3, you just about NEED the transmission cooler... i installed one on my car, and the transmission fluid is cool enough to not burn me when i check my fluid after a hard, long drive... best $8 investment i ever made...

i got it off of an aerostar van in the junkyard...

I'd just like to point out that the gear ratios do not change from D3 to D4, that would require a variable gear or somthing. Only the shift points change.
